Along the way you’ll meet koalas and kangaroos, traverse the iconic Sea Cliff Bridge, enjoy lunch (and perhaps a dip in the ocean) at a seaside café, wander through eucalyptus forest to views of a tumbling waterfall, and sample some of the cool climate wines for which the region has developed a reputation.

FAQs

How much walking is involved?

The walking we do in the morning is around the wildlife park, which can be done at your own pace. In the afternoon, we do a 1.5km / 1 mile round trip at Fitzroy Falls, along a forest trail and down and up about 60 steps. The first section to the main lookout is along about 200 metres of wheelchair accessible pathway. After that, participants could do as much or as little of the trail as they feel comfortable doing.

The Wildlife, Waterfalls & Wine tour explores the stunning South Coast and Southern Highlands regions to the south of Sydney.

During the tour, we’ll drive through three national parks: Royal National Park, Macquarie Pass National Park and Morton National Park. At Morton National Park, you’ll walk along a forest trail to view the breathtaking Fitzroy Falls, where water cascades 80 metres over the sheer sandstone escarpment into the valley below.

While the geography of this area looks very much like the Blue Mountains – unsurprisingly because it is part of the same Hawkesbury sandstone formation – the Blue Mountains are located west of Sydney.

Yes, we can cater to some. For lunch, there are vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free alternatives. The kitchen staff take great care to accommodate those with food allergies e.g. to nuts, however cannot guarantee that the final product does not contain traces of the allergen.

To avoid anyone having to sit on the vehicle while we drive for 30 or 40 minutes up and down the city’s one-way streets, we have a central meeting point out the front of the Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay, 30 Pitt St, Sydney.

The location is easy to get to – a 2 minute walk from Circular Quay light rail stop, train station, bus stops and ferry wharves and a 5 to 20 minute walk from most central Sydney hotels – and enables a quick exit from the city in the morning and return at the end of the day.

For private charters, we offer pick-up from one agreed location.

Rain typically doesn’t affect the tour. The private koala encounter with a keeper, lunch and the wine and cheese experience at the end of the day take place under cover, while the other activities – exploring the wildlife park and our short bush walk to the waterfall – are outdoors. We carry umbrellas in case it’s raining.

If we cancel because an official Severe Weather Warning is issued by the Bureau of Meteorology for the day of your tour, which fortunately is quite rare, we will give you the opportunity to join us on another date or provide you with a full refund.

Yes, we can run the tour as a private departure for one to eleven travellers.

To book, select the Private Tour tab above the booking calendar. You’ll also have the option to choose an alternate group pick-up location.

NB. A private departure has the same itinerary as the shared tour. If you prefer the flexibility of a custom tour, contact us to discuss your requirements.

For shared tours, change of date or cancellations made more than 48 hours prior to departure may incur a fee for non-recoverable costs. No refund is available for cancellations within 48 hours of departure or a “No Show”.

For private tours, there is no cancellation fee up to 30 days prior to the tour date (though non-recoverable costs may apply); a 10% fee applies for cancellations 30 to 14 days prior, and a 50% refund is issued for cancellations 14 days to 48 hours prior (less non-recoverable costs); no refund is provided for cancellations within 48 hours or for a “No Show”.
